I purchased the iPod Shuffle and the Apple In-Ear buds a while back and I am not impressed by the audio. I somehow imagined the In-Ear Headphones would offer a much deeper sound, but I’m the fool in this drama. Also, when walking outside with them, the wind makes this whistling sound in my ears, incredibly annoying. Not sure why, perhaps they stick out a tad more from my ears than other headphones, and they just catch the wind.

Oh hot dang! It even supports landscape typing. Damn, my blogging just got a little more sweetness to it, though it has been suffering from non-activity for a while now. Too bad image handling isn’t better. Would be nice to be able to place it somewhere other than at the bottom of the post.

Or heck, custom fields or post image thumbnail would be sweet. Hey WordPress, hear that? Awesome app guys, so happy it finally works.

From a web developers point of view, I’m sad to say that Safari is still a semi-shady browser, because it still doesn’t display web pages like you’d expect it to. It compares very well to the improvements IE6-IE7. Better, but still not quite there.

Anyway, let’s get to it. To add the keyboard shortcut Command (Apple) + K, go into System Preferences and choose Keyboard & Mouse like so:

Hit the plus sign at bottom left to add a new Shortcut. Choose Safari.app as Application, and type in “Google Search…” as Menu Title. Note the dots, very important. This is how Safari has this shortcut programmed, so you have to use them as well. Highlight Keyboard Shortcut and hit Command+K on your keyboard.

Click Add button, and voila! You have a brand new Keyboard Shortcut for your Safari 3.0 to play with.

Isn’t it a treat? This can be done in Opera quite easily as well, but that’s a different post. My next project will be to get/hack the Bookmarks to work like I want them to. Like, why the hell does the Bookmarks manager open in the active tab, kidnapping you from the very very interesting web page your currently on, reading this article about Somaliland on Wikipedia, and how it never seems to get recognized as an independent state god damn it…

Do I really have to say anything about this… this… mmmmm. God, I’m such a geek…
