Misfits live @ The House of Blues, Hollywood CA

Me, Svempa and Tarby went to see Misfits at the House of Blues in Hollywood last night. It was probably the worst show I’ve seen in a very long time, if not ever. These guys a celebrating their 30th year as a band… So what the hell did they do all these years?! They sure as hell didn’t rehears. And I think the drummer was the only original member, if that.

Well, it is nice to have seen them, and we at least got some great food at the Saddle Ranch. But hopefully I can find a ticket to Social Distortion to get some revenge. And Svempa too, only Tarby has a ticket.

Tarby told me that when Misfits first started playing, in ‘77, they were these monstrous guys, big as hell, tall and buff. That was sort of their trademark. But I guess as the members dropped off, so did that trademark. Apparently one of the credentials to try out for the band was that you’d have to be really tall and big… The current vocalist is really short and chubby, the guitar player was like a guitar string himself… and the drummer. Well, he was pretty ripped actually. No idea how tall he was. Hah!
